Public funding of cultural organizations and artists has long been dependent on the artistic excellence of their activities. Therefore, decisions about funding given to art organizations and This raises questions regarding evaluation procedures, criteria, and the implications for cultural production. Recent developments in evaluation show the growing significance of entrepreneurship and social value and the increased eligibility for public support of new agents in the creative industries. The panel will explore the evaluation processes in public arts funding and its potential for a revision against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.
