Description
Through the lecture given to the Shelter City human rights defenders, I explained the constraints of using digital media for activism. I reframed digital media as platformized environments where our relations and content have become monetized leading to data monitoring, data extraction, algorithmic recommendations, marketing manipulations, nudging via engagement metrics (likes, reposts, and comments), encouraging “attention economy” tendency.
