Description
The EI@EUR aims to establish an inter-disciplinary, inter-faculty platform to organize more dialogue, exchange and collaboration among ethnographers at the EUR and represent the cutting-edge ethnographic research done at the EUR towards the outside world. This initiative intends to overcome the barriers of institutional fragmentation and 'fast science’ to work towards an engaged team science approach that strengthens collaborative scholarship and increases its visibility. It will thereby contribute to and create meaningful relationships with Erasmus Initiatives like Vital Cities and Citizens, Wijkwijs and Dynamics of inclusive prosperity.The EI@EUR's key objectives are to:
1. Exchange on the latest developments and innovations within ethnographic methods (walk-along interviews; netnography, peer research, visual methods, mind mapping, narrative approach methods, Participatory Action Research); 2.Stimulate team science by presenting, giving feedback on and supporting ongoing research and collaborating on funding applications;
3.Organize trainings and educate (junior) academics around ethnographic methods and ethical issues surrounding ethnography;
4. Invite a leading external speaker every year to stimulate dialogue and exchange. (e.g. book publication);
5. Create a stage to publicly represent and showcase cutting-edge ethnographic research that is being done at the EUR;
