Resilient Urban Communities: Reframing resilience governance in marginalized urban settlements: the role of multi-level governance (MLG) arrangements of grassroots organizations (GROs).

Description

During this one-week long Seminar, I presented the ground-breaking paper for my PhD on Multilevel resilience Governance. Through comparative case studies of polymorphic grassroots organizations in Sierra leone, India and Kenya, the presentation discussed diverse forms of grassroots partnerships that are (re)activated during crises and how do they influence resilience initiatives among marginalized urban poor communities. It also discussed how these partnerships are influenced by institutional learning, street-level bureaucracy, traditional leadership, and boundary spanning.
