Description
Through movement, imagination and memory, participants are encouraged to explore their own embodied experiences with water. This bodily exploration workshop is accompanied by a free writing and drawing exercise in which participants can record the experience lived in this journey through their own bodies and the bodies of water of their imagination and memory. While I could not say that these materials are in themselves a sample of what rivers and water do or say, perhaps they could be evidence of the traces they leave in the encounter with the human experience. Not infrequently words do not do justice to experience, at least not when we try to articulate it in an explanatory-logical-intellectual language. Or perhaps these experiences demand language that “largely converges with poetry and literature” because poetry and literature have better methods for understanding the vivid presence of conscious life on earth (Bird Rose, 2013: 106)".
