This research trip to South Korea contributes to a better understanding of platform work in a non-Western context, which can be important for developing inclusive and effective policy measures. For example, South Korea is one of the largest markets in the world for meal delivery platforms, with local rather than foreign platforms dominating the market, and support from trade unions and Korean society is limited. What can we learn from working conditions in South Korea and how can we better protect platform workers in the Netherlands?
