Harmonization of legal rules on mortgage credit agreements

Description

Recently I was interviewed by Peter Teffer, research journalist for 'Follow The Money', about (the lack of) a European market for mortgage credit agreements... See https://www.ftm.nl/artikelen/eu-beloofde-goedkopere-hypotheken-maar-liet-hindernissen-bestaan

Although the rules on mortgage credit agreements were (partially) harmonized in 2014, we are still far away from creating an internal market for mortgage credit agreements granted to consumers.

Excellent timing by Peter Teffer, by the way, because the rules on mortgage credit need revision. If interested in this topic, tune in for more news to follow in 2025... including my upcoming research papers which will be published soon in the context of 2 European research projects respectively led by @Irene Visser (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) on 'mortgage enforcement and forbearance', and by Miriam Anderson and Esther Arroyo (University of Barcelona) on 'the Review of the Mortgage Credit Directive: Towards a Sustainable, Digital and Inclusive European Market'.
