Research interests
Ana is a PhD candidate at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS). Her research centers on the political economy of social protection reforms in Latin America, with particular focus on the influence of external actors on social policymaking. Ana holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies from ISS, and a Master of Arts in Development Economics from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLASO). Ana is also a Lecture at Leiden University College.
Ana has been involved in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and programs for 14 years. During this time, she has worked in government, NGOs and done consultancies for development agencies.
Ana’s research interests focus on the political economy of development, social policy, policy evaluation, macroeconomics, and environmental policy.
