Research interests

Andreas Distel is Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Netherlands. He received my PhD from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. His research focuses on the micro-foundations of strategic adaptation, corporate entrepreneurship, and open innovation. Incorporating insights from strategic management, psychology, neuroscience and AI, he is specifically interested in how individual-level drivers such as cognitive processes, managerial skills, and entrepreneurial behaviors shape firm performance, organizational capabilities, innovation processes, and policy outcomes. He applies primarily quantitative methods to analyze data from various sources (e.g., survey, large scale employee-employer or text-based data) at multiple levels. His work has been published in the Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Small Business Economics.
