Research interests
Research on taxes of sub-central governments
I'm conducting legal research on taxes of sub-central governments (SCG's) in the Netherlands, e.g. municipalities and water boards. The researches fit in the research program 'Fiscal autonomy and its boundaries' of the department Fiscal Law on the Erasmus School of Law. It focuses on fiscal discretion of SCG's given and/or limited by fiscal rules and case law, national as well as international. Besides the researching, I'm deputy judge at the Court of Appeal of The Hague, editor for the online encyclopedia NDFR, editor and regular contributor for Belastingblad, member of the NOB stakeholder group lokale belastingen en milieuheffingen and author/speaker at request.
