Research interests
Bart Koes is a Clinical Epidemiologist and Professor of General Practice at the Department of General Practice, Erasmus MC since 1999.
His projects at the department include large scale randomised clinical trials. The other studies include observational (cohort) studies and systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Most studies concern musculoskeletal disorders in primary care.
Bart Koes published widely (> 600 publications listed in Pubmed) in the area of musculoskeletal disorders in primary care. He is one of the most published researchers in the field of low back pain and sciatica.

Since April 2018 he holds a part-time position as Professor of Musculoskeletal Disorders in Primary Care at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark.
