Research interests

Elisabeth Timmermans received a **[LEaDing Fellows scholarship][]** and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Media & Communication. In 2017 she obtained her doctoral degree in social sciences at the KU Leuven (Belgium). She is mainly interested in how new media influence romantic relationship development, maintenance and dissolution. Her research expertise involves mobile daters’ motives and outcomes as well as ghosting and infidelity experiences on dating apps. She recently published her popular scientific book [Liefde in tijden van Tinder][].
