Research interests

Erik's research interests include the impact of EU law on national tax systems. His research and teaching focuses mainly on the free movement of natural persons within the EU, its tax implications and the role EU citizenship has played in this context. Another research interest of Erik relates to the judicial tax dialogue within Europe. He researches the interdependence between Member State courts and the ECJ through the prelimary reference procedure in the area of taxation. In addition, Erik's research in this context focuses on the horizontal tax law dialogue in Europe between the ECJ, ECHR and EFTA-court.
