Vision on education: In a world with fast information exchange where people have to deal with multiple stimuli that fight continuous battles for their attention, learning has become a major challenge. There is this reciprocal relationship between IT and learning. On the one hand IT causes the aforementioned challenge, yet on the other hand IT may provide the solution by speeding up the transmission of adequate feedback, allowing for participatory and exploratory learning and using student connectivity to enhance social learning environments. In this fast-changing educational and technological environment, teaching innovations that combine sound pedagogical practices with novel technologies are needed to prepare self-regulated learners for the fast-changing knowledge economy.
