Research interests

Dr. J.P. (Julien) Kloeg is assistant professor of social philosophy at the Erasmus School of Philosophy (ESPhil). His research interests are the intersections between philosophical anthropology, political theory, and the philosophy of education. In view of this, Julien serves as the managing editor of the International Yearbook of Philosophical Anthropology, published by De Gruyter, and was elected Generalsekretär for the Helmuth Plessner Gesellschaft. At ESPhil Julien is part of the Human Conditions research theme.

Julien's teaching focuses on European philosophy in the twentieth and twenty-first century, with emphasis on philosophical anthropology and political theory. Julien holds a PhD in political philosophy from Erasmus University (2019), a university teaching qualification, and is qualified to teach in secondary education. In addition, at ESPhil he is programme coordinator for the BA Philosophy and the BA Philosphy of a Specific Discipline (BPSD).
