Biografie

Karin Slotema is bijzonder hoogleraar aan de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, binnen de groep Clinical Psychology, Education, and Child Studies. Ze promoveerde in 2011 op het onderwerp Behandeling van patiënten met therapieresistente auditieve verbale hallucinaties. Daarnaast is ze opleider psychiatrie bij Parnassia Groep, regio Haaglanden, en psychiater bij de afdeling Persoonlijkheidsstoornissen van Parnassia Groep in Den Haag.

Haar onderzoek richt zich voornamelijk op EMDR voor persoonlijkheidsstoornissen, kortdurende schematherapie voor persoonlijkheidsstoornissen, hallucinaties bij borderline persoonlijkheidsstoornis en destigmatisering van mensen met persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. Ze heeft verschillende subsidies ontvangen voor haar onderzoek, onder andere van ZonMw en Stichting tot Steun VCVGZ, en heeft de resultaten van haar onderzoek gepresenteerd op talrijke nationale en internationale conferenties. Biography 

Karin Slotema is an endowed professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, within the Clinical Psychology group in the Department of Psychology, Education, and Child Studies. She obtained her PhD in 2011 on the topic Treatment of patients with therapy-resistant auditory verbal hallucinations. In addition, she is chief of the residency training program in psychiatry at Parnassia Groep, region Haaglanden, and psychiatrist at the department of Personality disorders at Parnassia Groep, the Hague. 

Her research interests primarily focus on EMDR for personality disorders, brief schema therapy for personality disorders, hallucinations in borderline personality disorder and destigmatization among individuals with personality disorders. She has received several fundings for her research, including those from Zon Mw and Stichting tot Steun VCVGZ, and has presented the results of her research at numerous national and international conferences.
