Personal profile

Research interests

**Lysanne te Brinke is a postdoctoral researcher in the [SYNC-lab][] and is interested in prosocial and antisocial development.** She currently works on an ERC consolidator project called ‘Brainlinks’. Specifically, she is involved in the development of an intervention aimed at fostering prosocial development in adolescence during COVID-19 and beyond. This intervention study tests a new theory on adolescent development which argues that changes in emotional reactivity pose opportunities for positive prosocial development, such as increases in sharing, helping and community commitment. The key question of this study concerns: When and how do changes in emotional reactivity in adolescence result in opportunities for prosocial development and which factors facilitate opportunities for positive, prosocial development? **Research interests:** Intervention Science, Underlying Mechanisms, Emotion Regulation, Prosocial Behavior, Antisocial Behavior **Onderzoeksinteresses:** Interventie Onderzoek, Onderliggende Mechanismes, Emotieregulatie, Prosociaal Gedrag, Antisociaal Gedrag **Bio** Lysanne has a background in developmental psychology, and completed both a research master (2015) and clinical master (2016, cum laude) at Utrecht University. In her PhD project at Utrecht University (2016-2020), Lysanne developed an experimental emotion regulation training for adolescents with externalizing behavior problems, and examined the relative effects of different treatment approaches, through the use of micro-trial designs. During her PhD, she collaborated with the Harvard Lab for Youth Mental and the Sydney Child Behavior Clinic. Aside from her passion for bridging science and practice, she is actively involved in  early career researchers union of the European Association for Developmental Psychology (see [https://www.eadp.info/early-researchers-union][https_www.eadp.info_early-researchers-union]).     [SYNC-lab]: https://erasmus-synclab.nl/ [https_www.eadp.info_early-researchers-union]: http://Early%20Researchers%20Union
