Research interests

Margarita de Vries Mecheva is a PhD researcher within Development Economics group of ISS Erasmus University. Her PhD project is in the field of economics of nutrition transition and examines the influence of economic, enviromental and behavioral factors on chilhood overweight and obesity in Indonesia. The research is based on insights from a variety of disciplines ranging from psychology, human nutrition and economics. The PhD project aims to inform policy and to contribute to the development of future interventions to decrease the prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity in the Global South.
