Research interests

Marli Huijer is full professor of public philosophy at Erasmus School of Philosophy. Huijer studied Philosophy and Medicine (University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit). She obtained a doctorate in Philosophy in 1996, with a dissertation on Aids and Michel Foucault’s aesthetics of existence. From 2015 to 2017, she was Thinker Laureate of the Netherlands. Previously, Huijer was senior researcher in Practical Philosophy at Groningen University, visiting academic at the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK) and from 2002 till 2005 she was endowed professor in Gender and Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University (Center for Gender and Diversity). Her research focuses on the public role of philosophy; order and time in human affairs (rhythm, discipline); philosophy of science and technology; gender and biomedical sciences. **Areas** **of PhD supervision** 1.
