Marlies Reinders (MD, PhD) is professor Internal Medicine, Kidney Transplantation and Nephrologist at the Erasmus MC and the Erasmus MC Transplant Institute. She studied Medicine in Groningen (RUG). From 2000 till 2002 she did her doctoral research in Boston at Harvard Medical School and Leiden University in the field of kidney transplantation. Her research focuses on translation of innovations in transplantation. She published on regenerative therapies (such as mesenchymal stromal cell) in kidney transplantation and is involved in projects for immunized patients and corona vaccination for patients. In addition, she has a major interest in innovations in education in transplantation. She is the founder of the MOOC Clinical Kidney Transplantation and developed Augmented and Virtual Reality in kidney transplantation. She is chair of ECTORS ESOT and member of the ESOT council. In addition she is member of the board of the Erasmus MC Transplant Institute.
