Research interests

Nico Lehmann is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE). He joined ESE in 2020 after being a faculty member at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Göttingen from 2015 and 2020. He earned his PhD at the University of Göttingen and was a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto. His research interests are in the areas of corporate governance, information intermediation, and sustainability. He has published in leading academic journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and Journal of Accounting Research. His work has been covered by Forbes and Harvard Business Review (among others). He currently serves as an Associate Editor of Accounting and Business Research (since 2026), and as an Editorial Board member of The Accounting Review (since 2023), European Accounting Review (since 2024), and Management Review Quarterly (since 2022).
