Research interests

Sacha Feierabend is a PhD candidate at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) and the International Institute for Social Studies (ISS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

His PhD research focuses on human rights and the global production network of lithium-ion batteries. It involves multi-sited fieldwork in different geographies associated with battery and electric vehicle production and consumption, such as sites of lithium extraction in South America, of battery assembly and consumption as well as corporate headquarters in Europe.

His research interests include the socio-environmental impacts of extractive industries, business and human rights, climate and environmental justice and participatory research methods.
