Research interests

Solomon G. Zori is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) of Financial Reporting and Valuation at RSM. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) degree from the University of Cape Coast-Ghana. He obtained his Master of Science (MSc) in Accounting & Control from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and a PhD in financial accounting from the University of Cologne Germany. He was a visiting scholar at Paris Dauphine University and SciencePo in Paris. Solomon is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).  Prior to joining RSM Solomon was a doctoral and post-doctoral research fellow at the Max Plank Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) in Germany. He was also an affiliate finance specialist with the ERP software giant SAP. Solomon further poses experience in investment banking with Goldman Sachs in London and UBS in Amsterdam. He teaches courses in Business Analysis &  Valuation and Advanced Business Analysis & Valuation in the Master of Accounting and Financial Management programme and Financial Statement Analysis in the RSM MBA programme. He supervises several masters thesis in the area of financial reporting, valuation and the economic consequences of accounting regulation. His current research focuses on Accounting Standard Setting, Accounting Regulation, Accounting reforms and the economic consequences of accounting regulation change with special interest in developing countries. He is also interested in accounting education, certification and the regulation of the accountancy profession.
