Research interests

I am interested in development studies, history and international relations of Africa, international political economy. The thematic areas of my research has so far been ideological basis of domination, civil-military relations, conflict and peacekeeping, migration and return migration. In my work I apply classical conceptulaisations of state/party/elite studies, long duree perspective of history and political economy. Before Joining the School of History, Culture and Communications, I have worked and affilated with the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Leiden University, Univesrity of Cape Town, the Nordic Africa Institute in Sweden and Institute for Social Research in Norway.
