Research interests

Titiaan Keijzer is a well-known scholar, focusing on matters of corporate law, corporate governance and corporate litigation. These fields are essential for a better future, with businesses increasingly being required to make a positive contribution for the greater good. In his research, Titiaan seeks to systematically rethink rules and regulations for the purpose of enabling businesses to pursue valuable, inclusive long-term strategies.

Titiaan's research is strongly interdisciplinary and international in nature. In his PhD-thesis (Vote and Value. An economic, historical and legal-comparative study on dual class equity structures), he combined several perspectives to study whether and when certain types of stocks can foster innovation and long-term growth by listed companies. Titiaan's latest work focuses on the “Twin Transitions” of sustainability and digitalization.   

Titiaan holds LL.B, LL.M and Ph.D (cum laude) degrees, all from Erasmus University Rotterdam and served as a Visiting Scholar at the Max Planck Institute (Hamburg, Germany) and Columbia Law School (New York, US). In 2016, Titiaan was seconded to the Monitoring Committee to provide technical advice in connection with the then-pending review of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code. Between 2020 and 2023, Titiaan served as an attorney in private practice, providing him with crucial information on the functioning of the law in a societal context. Currently, Titiaan serves as editor and permanent contributor at Maandblad voor Ondernemingsrecht and Tijdschrift Ondernemingsrecht, respectively, two of the leading Dutch corporate law journals.
