Research interests
Yan Cong is a PhD researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam under the Feminist Generative AI Lab. Her research examines the socio-environmental impact of generative AI through a decolonial feminist lens, and she’s specifically interested in the relations between AI infrastructure and water. She also works as a program officer with the Green Screen Coalition, supporting practitioners, collectives and civil society organizations working at the intersection of climate justice and digital rights.
She holds a research MA in Media Studies (cum laude) from University of Amsterdam, and an MS in Journalism from Columbia University.
