Many international commercial court (ICC) have opened their doors in Europe and Asia in the recent years, while many others are being discussed. These courts seem to be a response of to the decreasing number of the international commercial cases in courts, to the need for a professional alternative to arbitration, but also a sing of a competitive race between trade hubs. This course provides an introduction to the development of the international commercial courts, and an overview of the legal framework where they operate. Discussion will be encouraged during the course, and students will be motivated to reflect on the suggested literature and discuss the empirical data available.
