Description

In 1994, the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Program Committee, chaired by William M. Thompson, MD, began a program to recognize the contribution of residents to the RSNA Annual Meeting: the Research Trainee
Prize. The Research Trainee prize was expanded in 1999 to include fellows and
in 2004 to include medical students; in 2005, it was renamed the Trainee Research Prize. Each subcommittee of the Program Committee may award three
prizes each year: one prize for the best paper or scientifi c poster submitted by
a resident or physics trainee, one prize for the best paper or poster submitted by a fellow, and one prize for the best paper or poster submitted by a medical student. The following award winning papers and scientific posters
were accepted for presentation at the 2011 RSNA Annual Meeting. Judgment
is based on the scientifi c content of the paper or poster as presented in an
extended abstract. The Trainee Research Prize consists of $1000 and a certificate indicating the name of the trainee and the title of the paper or poster,
both of which are given to the individual trainee.
