Abstract

This chapter researches the way the famous historian of anarchism Max Nettlau represented his his history of anarchism. How did he deal with the transnational character of classical anarchism and what were his research methods? It turns out that underneath this multi-volume history Nettlau's own nationalism, if not Habsburgian imperialism, played an certain role to the detriment of the representation of Slavonian anarchist movements.
