Abstract
This study examines factors related to the adoption of mobile phones by healthcare workers in Indonesia. A total of 122 rural midwives participated in the study where each was given a mobile phone for health information sharing and communications. Their adoption was compared with a control group of 101 midwives in the same region. The results show that value perception and self-efficacy were antecedents to mobile phone adoption intention with perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of mobile phones as mediators.
