Abstract
The dissertation aims to bring EQ-5D-Y as a readily applicable health-related quality-of-life instrument for Indonesia. The dissertation comprises five studies, each addressing specific aspects to achieve the objective. The initial study involves adapting the EQ-5D-Y-5L from English to Bahasa Indonesia, ensuring linguistic and cultural relevance of the instrument. The subsequent studies explore the comparison of the EQ-5D-Y-3L and EQ-5D-Y-5L measurement properties in pediatric patients in Indonesia, as well as exploring the measurement properties for its proxy versions and their agreement with the self-report versions. The fourth study aims to establish a ‘value set’ for the EQ-5D-Y-3L, representative of the adult general population of Indonesia. Lastly, the fifth study focused on obtaining population norms for the EQ-5D-Y-3L, the EQ-5D-Y-5L and PedsQL Generic Core Scale, and to investigate factors related to HRQoL as measured by these three instruments. The collective findings from these studies aim to make EQ-5D-Y a valuable tool for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers in Indonesia. The conducted studies not only contributes to the scientific field but also encourages the practical use of EQ-5D-Y in the Indonesian context.
