Abstract

For immigrants who arrive in a country at a young age it is easier to assimilate than for teenagers. This paper investigates up to what immigration age the educational attainment of young immigrants in the Netherlands is similar to the educational attainment of secondgeneration immigrants, who were born in the country having at least one immigrant parent. It appears that this borderline immigration age depends on gender and country of origin.
