Abstract

Since October 2002 in the Erasmus MC 30 patients underwent an 'awake craniotomy' for brain tumour resection. This paper describes the perioperative regimen for this type of procedure, the results and the pitfalls. The protocol applied at the Erasmus MC is presented and discussed.
