Abstract
Since October 2002 30 'awake craniotomy'-procedures were performed for brain tumour resection at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. This paper describes the neurosurgical aspects of this type of procedure, the results and the complications. The protocol applied at the Erasmus MC is presented and discussed.
