Abstract
In this conversational panel, academics and experienced journalists will explore the complexities of trust in the media landscape, the practices of investigative journalists and newsroom organization. The panel members will discuss:
• The Building Blocks of Trust: What does trust mean in journalism, and how can we foster it in an era of misinformation and fake news?
• Navigating Complex Audiences: How can journalists build bridges with critical, disillusioned, or alienated audiences, and how do trust issues impact our interactions with research subjects?
• Creating Trustworthy Newsrooms: What role does inclusion and diversity play in building a culture of trust within news organizations and how does it impact the stories that are written?
