Creative and Social Research: Ideas from Discourse Analysis and Creative Thinking

Research output: Chapter/Conference proceedingChapterAcademic

Abstract

The chapter connects discussions of creative research to the work on effective creative thinking more generally. Second, it advocates systematic discourse analysis for addresing ‘ontological sociality’ in a precise empirical way. Within discourse analysis, one of the ways getting into other people’s minds, in both teaching and research, is through intensive text analysis. The chapter introduces a relatively simple and widely accessible method that adds value to the widely used variant used by Wayne Booth and others for structuring research projects.
