Abstract

This dissertation reports on a study on the effects of secure residential youth care on the behavioral problems, trauma problems, emotion regulation problems and problems in perceived competence of adolescents and the parenting problems of their parents or educators. In addition, this study explores the treatment needs of these adolescents and investigates possible alternative interventions for secure residential youth care.
