Abstract

Repricom, a global NGO delivering family planning through mobile outreach teams,
faces a funding crisis after major cuts from the UK and US. To make the most of the remaining resources, leadership appoints Sarah Hartwell to head an Operational
Excellence task force.

In Part A, Sarah explores the challenge of unmet global contraceptive needs, a decentralized organizational model, and the necessity of evidence-based initiatives grounded in field insights. Students step into Sarah’s role, preparing to interview the
head of community outreach of Repricom Uganda to deepen their understanding and
shape potential initiatives.

Part B builds on this by focusing on two initiatives—optimizing outreach visit frequencies and team assignments. Students evaluate trade-offs between return
times, travel efficiency, and client volumes, using data randomly generated from realworld patterns, and translate their analysis into an implementation plan.
Together, the cases integrate strategy and analytics, giving students hands-on
experience in applying rigorous modeling to the complex realities of global health
service delivery.
