Abstract
The current challenges that our society and the market face, such as those derived from the power of Big-Tech companies and the need for sustainable development, seem to require changes in the analysis and application of EU competition law. Therefore, it is necessary to question whether our current competition law focused on the consumer welfare standard is adapting and changing, or whether it should. This study aims to analyse whether the current challenges related to digital markets and sustainable development bring about a change of approach in the analysis and application of EU competition law, and which direction is the EU taking in this regard.
