Abstract
This research is intended to explore the design of a platform based on circular economy principles, and the integration of specific AI-powered functionalities to enhance its functioning and performance. It focuses on the designing perspective, detailing the architecture of the proposed platform in terms of key activities, stakeholders’ concerns, efficient business models, and integration of AI to drive sustainability outcomes. The outcomes of the presented work demonstrate the potential of AI to execute sustainable transformations and contribute to securing sustainable business practices. Furthermore, it details the role of AI and digitalization initiatives in transitioning from linear to circular business models, by detailing the architecture of the proposed platform.
