Abstract
The chapter is an introduction to some interpretations or types of equity, with illustrations mainly from Zimbabwe, including from land use, land reform, positive discrimination, and debt. It organizes the interrelations using Sen's framework, and outlines attempts in philosophy and social theory to locate and evaluate them.
