Abstract

European criminal law is one of the policy areas for which much will change under the Treaty of Lisbon. The chapter discusses the impact on both national criminal law systems and therewith also on individual citizens of the options offered under the new Treaty. Existing legislation is examined along with current and forthcoming proposals for European Union legislation.
