Abstract
The integration of technologies in pre-operative surgical planning, intra-operative guidance and surgical skills training is an added innovation to the armamentarium of CTS. In this thesis we aim to explore the added value of these (self-developed) immersive 3D-VR and 3D-AR technologies in CTS. Specifically, the role of 3D-VR for enhancing surgical planning and training, as well as the feasibility of utilizing 3D-AR for surgical guidance of minimally invasive pulmonary and cardiac procedures are assessed.
