Abstract
This book presents the results of nation-wide questionnaire-survey of grass-root, trade union representatives. It contains information on the history and economy of Guin?? (Conakry), the structure of the trade unions of this country and a wide range of research data on trade union motivation, on the socio-economic position of trade union representatives, on job satisfaction, on underrepresentation of women, etc. A major section is devoted to (desired) trade union policy. The major conclusion of the book is that the Guin?? trade union representatives are 'development oriented' rather than 'wage' or 'working condition' oriented. The book ends with a wider African perspective.
