Hyaluronidase (HA) has been used for many years in locoregional anaesthesia for ophthalmic surgery, because it improves penetration of the anaesthetic and reduces the volumes that are needed (Delaere et al. 2009; Nouvellon et al. 2010). In previous years, adverse reactions to HA are only presented in case reports of mostly one patient, and the incidence is estimated to be around 0.05% (Kempeneers et al. 1992; Delaere et al. 2009).
