Abstract

Interrogating notions around humanitarian action in Latin America and the Caribbean is not
an easy task. Together with a group of practitioners, academics, and humanitarians, we
explored what humanitarian aid is in Latin America and the Caribbean, resulting in some
common/different ideas about humanitarian action in our region. In this piece, we share the
results of these discussions after one year of meeting in a reading group.
