Abstract
We all use the Internet. The Internet has shaped business and society but what has shaped the Internet? In a convincing and thorough study, Barbara van Schewick shows how the architecture of the Internet has been key for its success because it has enabled continuous innovations. However, increasingly deviations from the original design rules for the Internet are affecting its potential for future innovations.
