Abstract

In this thesis, research is conducted into Medical Psychiatry Units (MPUs). Part I looks at the impact of medical-psychiatric comorbidity on health economic outcomes. Subsequently, in part II, the organization of these departments is examined in the United States and the Netherlands. Finally, in part III, the cost-effectiveness of a Dutch MPU is researched.
