Research output: Types of ThesisDoctoral ThesisInternal

Abstract

This PhD thesis explores how maternal immune activation - triggered by infections or inflammation during pregnancy - affects child psychiatric outcomes. It investigates the underlying biological mechanisms by examining pregnancy and birth complications, brain development, and epigenetic processes such as DNA methylation. Additionally, this research evaluates the potential of epigenetic markers to characterize maternal immune activation and its impact.
