Abstract

In this thesis, the microcirculatory function of the intestine was studied during abdominal surgery. The intestinal microcirculation was visualized with the use of handheld vital microscopy. In particular, attention was paid to blood flow at the planned primary anastomosis and to the relationship between the microcirculation and macrohemodynamic factors.
